Terms and Conditions

B&C North Charleston Insulation, northcharlestoninsulation.com, sales@northcharlestoninsulation.com

Agreeing to these terms

These terms cover your use of this website and any work you book with B&C North Charleston Insulation. When you browse the site, send us the contact form, call us or let our crew start a job, you're agreeing to them.

If you don't agree with something here, please don't use the site or book work with us. Any written estimate or work agreement we give you for a specific job also applies, and where it differs from these terms, that agreement controls for that job.

What we do

We're an insulation contractor in North Charleston, SC, and we work in the cities around it. Our work includes attic, wall, crawl space and basement insulation, blown-in and spray foam, air sealing, vapor barriers and removing old insulation. You can see the full list of services on our home page.

The service descriptions on this site are general information so you know what a job usually involves. They aren't a promise that a given method suits your house, because we can only judge that once we've looked at your attic, crawl space or walls in person.

Estimates and pricing

We give free on-site estimates, with no pressure and no obligation. Your estimate is based on what we can see and reach during the visit, such as how many inches are already up there, how easy the space is to get into, and whether old material has to come out first.

Sometimes we find something once the job is open that wasn't visible before, like wet or damaged insulation, droppings, or framing problems. If that changes the work or the price, we'll stop, explain it to you and get your approval before we go further. We won't charge for extra work you didn't agree to.

Scheduling and cancellation

We'll set a date with you and do our best to keep it, but weather, material deliveries and earlier jobs can push a start date. If we need to move your appointment, we'll tell you as early as we can and offer the next open time.

You need to give our crew safe access to the work area and clear a path to the attic hatch, crawl space or walls we're working on. Some products, spray foam in particular, require everyone in the house, including kids and pets, to stay out until the maker's re-entry time has passed, which is when it's safe to come back inside. We'll tell you how long that is before the job so you can plan around it.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please call us at (843) 278-0240 as soon as you know. If we've already ordered special materials for your job, we may ask you to cover what we can't return, and we'll tell you that up front in your estimate.

Payment

Payment terms, including any deposit, are written on your estimate or work agreement. Unless that says otherwise, the balance is due when the job is finished and we've walked you through the work.

If a payment is late, we may pause any remaining work until the account is settled. Under South Carolina law, an unpaid contractor can file a lien against the property, and we'd much rather talk through a payment problem with you before it gets to that point.

Our work and what we don't warrant

We're licensed and fully insured, and we stand behind our workmanship. If something we installed isn't right, call us and we'll come look and make it right if it's our work that's at fault.

Insulation products carry the maker's own warranty, and we'll pass along whatever the maker offers. Apart from what's written in your estimate or agreement, we don't promise a specific drop in your power bill or a certain indoor temperature, because those depend on your HVAC system, ductwork, windows, how you run the house and the weather.

We also can't warrant problems that come from things outside our work, like roof leaks, plumbing leaks, pests, later changes by someone else, or damage that was already there and hidden when we started. The information on this website is offered as is, and we don't guarantee it's complete or current for every house.

Limits on our liability

To the extent South Carolina law allows, our responsibility for any claim tied to a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. We aren't responsible for indirect losses, such as lost income, hotel costs during re-entry time, or energy costs, unless the law says we must be.

Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for damage we cause through negligence or for anything the law doesn't allow a business to limit.

If we disagree

If you're unhappy with something, call us first. Most problems get sorted out quickly once we've come back out and looked at the work together.

If we can't settle it that way, we both agree to try good-faith talks or mediation before going to court. Any lawsuit will be brought in a South Carolina court that covers the area where the work was done.

South Carolina law applies

These terms and any job we do are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, where our business is based.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted on this page is the one in effect. Changes won't affect a job you've already booked under an estimate or agreement you signed.
